FRESH NEW TRACKS

Here is your next dose of standout tunes I have received recently and added to my playlists.

SESPOOL - the reckoning

The latest release by San Fransisco's SESPOOL is a genre blurring, powerful song that is full of twists and turns. The blend of trap drums, distorted guitars and metal sounds is akin to the work of 100 gecs and Lil Aaron forming the frontier of this new wave of ultra modern rock music. Despite all the electronic sounds, 'the reckoning' manages to maintain the power of rock, as it sways like the tide through the 2:44 this track has to offer. The melodies here are really strong with some great harmonies that are backed up by luscious synths. Heavier drums enter around halfway through to add further depth to the rhythm section that is otherwise mainly electronic. This song really sounds like the future of rock music, and does a great job of dispelling the mantra that 'rock is dead'.

slowride - As Above/So Below

slowride blend electronic sounds with alternative rock to produce a unique blend of alt-pop that is both anthemic and catchy. Arpeggiated synths really drive this song along adding a hugely percussive element to the track. The drums are very steady throughout and give the track a really cool feel and groove. The vocals sound very contemporary and catchy with excellent production. A lot of alt-pop can be a bit soft around the edges, whereas this song has a real grit to it which adds so much character to the song. The instrumentation climbs and climbs, building the tension ahead of an extended chorus that brings proceedings to a close and leaves you wanting more.

Amber T - Get Me

Amber T is really starting to make waves at the tender age of just 17, and on this track you can really see why. She combines her inimitable vocals with a grungey alternative sound and perfectly constructed melodies. You could imagine Amber being amongst the Dirty Hit Roster as her sound would tie in perfectly with the likes of The 1975, Pale Waves and Beedaboodee, with her brilliant Indie Pop songs, polished off with a bit of added grit. It looks as though Amber is going to have a really bright future and definitely one to keep an eye on if this stunning pop song is anything to go by.

Beafets - Saturday Night Caesar

Beafets kick this song off with an intro that helps the listener to settle into the sonic influences of Indie and modern pop, with it's use of guitars and synths. When the vocals come in you are already hooked into listening to this hypnotic track. The groove is really strong in this song with the drums and bass providing a beat that get's you moving. The chorus is particularly uplifting as the instrumentation picks up even further. This song really feels like it could be a hit on the Indie scene as it has all the ingredients for a huge hit track!
